Assistant Guide

The Assistant Guide supports the Lead Guide in a Montessori classroom serving children ages 2.9–6. This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, and includes classroom support, leading aftercare, and running the summer program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting children during the Montessori work cycle, transitions, outdoor play, and lunch routines

  • Observing children closely and offering quiet, respectful guidance aligned with Montessori practice

  • Modeling classroom routines, practical life skills, and care of the environment

  • Preparing, resetting, and maintaining a tidy, well-organized classroom environment

  • Collaborating with the Lead Guide to maintain consistency and a positive atmosphere

  • Communicating clearly with the Lead Guide and contributing to a dependable, professional team culture

  • Supporting and leading daily routines during the summer program

Floating Assistant

We’re looking for a Floating Assistant to support our classroom as needed throughout the week. This is a flexible, part-time role, typically about twice a week, with additional hours available as needs arise. The Floating Assistant helps maintain continuity and calm in the classroom by stepping in to support routines, transitions, and daily activities.

This position is ideal for someone interested in Montessori or early childhood education who is looking for hands-on experience in a thoughtful, community-centered school environment. There is potential for the role to grow over time.

Key responsibilities Include:

  • Support the Lead and Assistant Guides with classroom routines and transitions

  • Observe and assist children during activities and work time

  • Help maintain a calm, organized, and welcoming classroom environment

  • Assist with outdoor time and other daily routines as needed

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency and a positive atmosphere
